Great things happened today.....
First...New camera. We were at the super Wal-mart at 6:30am and were back on the road at 7 with a working camera. Here was a perfect example of small town friendly people. We had a 10 minute conversation with the "greeter" at the Wal-mart about  a bowl she was given at a friend's mother's funeral....yes that really happened. Second...NO RAIN. Woohoo!! and finally....we road over 700km's and butt is doing fine!! We put in the crazy day riding so we could get to Eureka tomorrow, which will be no problem now.

We started in La Grande and ended in Klamath Falls. Our ride took us through one National Forest, across the plains, through another National Forest, across the Great Northern Basin, lake country (more like desert) and more National Forest. We went from one extreme landscape to another. All fantastic. The National Forest roads were over the mountain passes so the temperature dropped as low at 7 degrees but across the Lake Country it went as high as 24 degrees.  At one point while riding through the plains we were expecting to see natives on horseback, just like out of the movies.

We drove through more very small towns and spoke and waved to more really friendly people. We did make a "pit" stop at the town of Wagontire....we're only calling it a town because it was on the map and it was on the State signs advising you the mileage to get there. What was there was a Motel which was the location of some horror movie...not sure which one but it must have been. That is all that was there....strange people and all. Our only regret is that we didn't get a picture. Unbelievable.

Tonight we are in Klamath Falls at another Best Western. Nice place. Tomorrow we're off to California!
