We had some really hot weather on the 29th, and Molly was staying at our place so we decided to go to Mona Vale and have a surf/beach day. It's only about a half hour bus; I couldn't believe we hadn't been there before as it was a couple of Km stretch of sand, it was so nice. However, it was quite difficult surf as there were lots of undercurrents and I was only able to catch a few waves :( Not quite ready for proper surfing yet I think!

Then on the 30th we had booked tickets to go to the Big Bash League, which is a 20/20 league in Australia, like the IPL. We got to go the Sydney derby, Thunder vs. Sixers. I've adopted my home team as the Thunders (even though they're bottom of the league), as they have Clarke and Gayle! It's was so good as their home ground is the ANZ stadium which is at the Sydney Olympic Park, It's an 80,000 seater stadium and the atmosphere was great. I got too see Brett Lee, Brad Haddin and Matt Prior.

I was really struck by home Americanised the 20/20 scene was. There were half time shows, pump up music between overs and deliveries and so much advertising. But I had a great time; Molly seemed really into it and wants to go again, so hopefully we're going to the Sydney Sixers home ground, the SGC, to see a game next week.

There are more photos but i'm having some problems with computers etc. so my next few blogs will be photoless until I get it sorted.
