On Christmas Eve the Burns family had a few other families over for a big dinner and some games and thinks. Each year they do a theme, last year was Hawaiian, this year it was spots and stripes. I got away with wearing just a striped shirt. It was really nice there was lots of food, drinks and then we played some games. We were in little teams and there were some quizzes and a catalogue game. It was really good. Then Johnny invited me to the midnight mass at their church. He said it would have some carols; some of the kids were in the band and then a little talk from the minister. I had never been so I decided, why not? It was a new experience and it was pretty much as Johnny said it would be.

On Christmas day Abby and I got up at 7 to make pancakes. Molly had worked 14 hours the day before and been up for 18, so we let her sleep. Chrissie had got us 3 our own stockings, which was so nice as it meant we could sit down with the rest of the family and open presents with them. We got them each something small as well. Then we had pancakes and headed to Bondi beach. It was the worst weather we'd had the entire trip... so we weren't expecting much. But the beach was very empty, which we were a bit gutted about! But the Bondi area had quite a lot of people most of the restaurants were full, loads of people were wearing Christmas hats and costumes and things. So we decided to get some lunch, it was really nice as we were all in good spirits and had a good laugh. Then we headed back to Molly's were we had Christmas carols on, watched some films played cards and charades. It was really good fun.

Then on Boxing Day, we got up and watched home-alone (a classic I know), Then Molly started the Christmas roast while I watched the Boxing Day test, Aus vs. SL. Molly made an amazing meal, it's the first time she had done a Christmas roast and it was sooo good. We had chicken, sweet and normal roast potatoes, homemade Yorkshire pudding, pigs in blanket, gravy, runner beans and wine. It was really quite impressive, I was well happy!

The girls were going out that night but I wanted to go home and Skype my family as I wasn't able to the day before. However because it was boxing day there were loads of replacement buses and it took me a few hours to get home and I was so tiered when I got back I fell straight asleep. Luckily I woke up to Gwen ringing me on Skype. So I got to speak to my family which was great, as it was my first Christmas away from home and it is quite weird missing all the KP Banta!

Anyway, I got tickets to the Big Bash 20/20 league in a few days, hopefully surfing tomorrow and seeing the fireworks over the opera house for New Year's :) I'll do another blog in the New Year! Hope you have a happy new year everyone!!
