Hi everyone, hope your all well. Hope you enjoy the first eventful stage of our trip!
SD - Arrived in Peru, tired but safely, after 26 hours of travelling! Yesterday wasn't our day, first we were split up on the flight to Miami, however, this worked itself out. Although the flight was full, I had a nice American lady next to me and when one seat in front became free she moved to allow Toby to sit with me.
The flight took off late which meant we were cutting it fine to make our connection in Miami as immigration at Miami is sooo slow and soooo suspicious, no treating us in transit like they would in the UK. Then our flight was delayed to Peru by 2 ½ hours, slept most of the flight as we were knackered
Yet, worst was to come, immigration at Peru was quick, but baggage really slow. We hadn't had to pick our bags up in Miami as they should have just gone straight through, but we were nervous waiting for the bags to arrive. They did arrive....or at least Toby's did along with our small bag with some camping stuff in. We were then told there was no more luggage to come through and I had to complete a lost baggage form along with quite a few others from our flight.
OMG! - Why my bag?? )stop laughing everyone) I did manage to stay clam, even though Toby thought I might cry, but I think I just couldn't process what I'd do without all my stuff! Luckily, I had a few cosmetics in my hand luggage and some spare clothes in the other bags. I'll be making sure I pack a few things in Toby's bag forever more now!
Finally, we left the airport about 2 hours after landing, our pickup/transfer had cleared off and was not there and we took a risk with a taxi, which we really didn't want to do hence arranging a pick up. There were so many taxi's outside, it was difficult to tell the licensed and unlicensed ones and when we chose a taxi, another taxi driver was shouting at us 'Be careful be careful'
Today is much better, my luggage has arrived, HOOORAHHH!!!!. We have also ventured out and had a pizza lunch for under £1. We are not in a very touristy area so stand out quite a bit but people seem friendly and staff at the hotel v nice (Kamana).
Hopefully, no more trials will be sent to try us, unlikely I know!
WE are now on our way to meet our tour group tonight which will be interesting and trip starts tomorrow with a tour of Lima and then Sunday we head out to the coast.
Bye Bye for now.

Plaza In Lima
. Sounds like a normal travelling experience so far doesn't it.......? Yet, worst was to come, immigration at Peru was quick, but baggage really slow. Presidential Palace Lima
. Very comforting! It turned out ok, but was a nervous ride, at least for me, but our driver Juan spoke some English and was very nice. Lima in the small hours looks pretty intimidating. Today is much better, my luggage has arrived, HOOORAHHH!!!!. We have also ventured out and had a pizza lunch for under £1. You made it
HI, glad you have arrived safely, even if it was with hassle, I think Stephanie has sent you an e-mail via Mum & Dad's.
Have great fun and we are looking forward to hearing more and seeing the pictures.

Suzanna, it would be your bag that went missing.
It sounds like an interesting first few days! Bit different to grey old Bracknell. Have you got a silly hat yet?
Hi Guys
Oh my god Suzanna that's just not fair, my first thought was how are you going to survive you are always so immaculate, look on the bright side you will need to go shopping now and soon hard luck Tob's that's going to put a big dent in your budget. I am so pleased to hear from you, it is brighting up a gloomy day in Bracknell.
Keep safe now - look forward to hearing about other exiting adventures.
