Wow. Well, the morning certainly started off with a bang. Litterally. I awoke at, what felt like, 5 or 6 in the morning to the sound of banging & clanging & metal on metal..! I thought it was the landlord, since Petra hald told him the light in our common room/kitchen was out & that's where the noise was coming from. Turns out it was more like 8 am, & it was our "neighbors" from the Netherlands, I beleive, making their breakfast. Rather loudly... >.< Anyway. Petra picked up some breakfast of our own while I showered. We ate & headed out into the city. :)
We caught a tram from Fléda to the city center. From there, we walked to various stores, mostly clothing, looking at crazy fads, acknowledgin painfull price tags, & picking up gifts. :) We ate lunch at a Chinese restaurant in the mall; it was VERY good. And definitely different than any Chinese food I've had at home. With full stomachs, hiked up a very tall hill to a sort of fortress, which actually functioned as a prison. It was large &...I'll say "admirable", architecture wise. It's hard to call something that was used as the death place for thousands (& by slow & painful means) "beautiful". With aching feet, we decided it was time to head back to Fléda for a nap. And we would walk there. By...some route. And we WOULD get there...eventually. And we did. :)
Back in bed, I shut my eyes & listened to my iPod. Tomás Klus, to be specific. He has quickly become a new favorite & I highly encourage my appreciated readers to try him out. :) After a while, Petra started talking to Pavel (her bf), then grabbed some Czech "Ramen Noodles", bread, & some sort of REALLY good chocolate..thing..for supper, which was followed by a movie (The Truman Show), which I actually liked, despite its star. After that, once my laundry was handed over to a much nicer Fléda employee, & it had gotten a little darker out, Petra & I decided to hunt down this beer that we saw yesterday which Petra claimed was "the best beer in the world!" After a lot of hunting, due to difficult & frustrating signs, we finally found the little underground theater pub (it was awesome, great atmosphere & prices), we settled in for some good eatin's. Petra got various breads with some sort of blue cheese, onion, pepper, in a jar, mixture. I got "fried cheese", with ham, & potatos. It was delicious. And the beer was actually good! At first. And then about half-way through it, or maybe a little be more, (but no more than 3/4 of the way; btw, it was a .3 liter glass, so, small) the foam dissipated & it turned bitter. Blech. X( Oh well. Once again full, Petra & I made our way back to Fléda, where we settled back down, & where she now sleeps (or tries to) while I type.
I have to say I am SO thankful that I am blessed to have this adventure. Not only to actually experience more than just the US, or to see a country as beautiful as this one, or experience - first hand - the history it still holds alive, but to have this time with my friend, Petra, who is such a wonderful person & great to hang out with. :) Petra, I know you'll eventually be reading this, so: love you, & I can't thank you enough. :) And thanks to all those at home who made this possible. :) Love yas, too. <3 Ok, sappy moment passed, no - I'm not drunk, yes - I'm sure. Good night, all. And a beautiful one it is. :)

Sounds like some great sights Kari! When I went through Europe I was too young to appreciate what I saw. I'm glad you have this opportunity as well. I'm thinking that's enough with the beer though ;-) . Love you and miss you much.
