Made it to Lao Cai about 6AM, a bus to Sapa and we were in the hotel by 7:30AM.  G goes to sleep immediately while K and T hit the internet.  After checking in with "the outside world", K and T head out to get breakfast.  After breakfast, walking around town being followed by women from local hill tribes trying to sell us local handcrafts.  I ignore them all while K enjoys bantering with them.  Through the meat/vegetable/fruit market then back to the hotel to check in with G.

Lunch then off on our trek to Cat Cat village.  Two kilometers down hill through numerous "check points" for purchasing local handicrafts.  Very interesting and worth the trek.  I guess a Trek is kind of like "walking" however, you get a guide and have to pay to walk.  In any case, worth the walk.  Three miles uphill by another route to get back to Sapa.  G calls it quits about a third of the way up, pays her $2 for a motor bike ride back to the hotel and off she goes.  K and T continue on and when we were almost to the top, our guide hails a bus and we ride the rest of the way.

After a rest we head out to the markets again and to eat supper.  G quickly gathers a crowd of local hill tribe women who follow her constantly trying to sell things.  They leave me alone and G eventually buys some things which seems to encourage them to gather more friends and follow us closer.  Supper and back to the hotel where K and T get ready for bed while G is off to another massage.  We should all sleep well tonight following our trek.
