It was a cold night indeed and we only crashed for about 2 hours at the location we pulled into and I must have woken up about 5 times and started the car twice to get the heater cranked up to get some heat going around the vehicle.
I drove on for about 1 hour and then Linda woke up and wanted to stop for a break and stretch the legs. What better way to do this than have our first stop at Dunkin' Donuts (1st of many to follow).
We both got a coffee but I will admit mine was twice the size of Linda's and I also got a choc glazed donut too while Linda went the non-fat blueberry muffin with hers.
We were only on the road for another hour or two and we were both cactus again. We had to pull over in a truck stop and passed out for over 2 hours
Hit the road again and drover all the way to Niagara falls. We hit so many tolls on the way up here that I now leave my wallet open waiting for the next one around the corner.
The best way a dual freeway (but not FREE) which was $5.90 at the end of it. The rest are like $1.00 or $1.75 to cross a bridge and a bit hard to swim with the car so we just paid them.
On arrival to Niagara falls, we pulled over and checked out the USA side first. Linda was quite impressed with the whole setup. She was expecting to drive to the middle of no-where to see some water fall down but the fact that it was so close to the city and just a normal way of life for the locals was something else.
After checking out the USA side we drove to the Canadian side. Border crossing was a lengthy but nice to get across and not rejected like some attempts.
The initial viewing of the falls was by car and not that good so we decided to grab a hotel (Comfort Inn) first up then some tucker and then down to the edge for some pics
We went to TGI Fridays for some tucker and a few deserts as well. We had the Mocha and the Snickers ones which were awesome....... From then we took a walk down to the edge of the falls looking at the light display on the way which is now setup for the lead up to Xmas.
The falls were spectacular at night. They alternate between white and colored lights which really highlight the viewing. We tried to take heaps of pics, but the new camera is a little above our ability at this stage. We decided to return back to the hotel at about 11pm as it was 0 degrees and both out hands were numb.
I quickly called Tom to get some tips for the camera settings....hopefully I can work something out!!!!
Sacked it at about 02:00.
