Where I stayed
Tina's Mom's & Doug's House
TL, Mia and Kaylie hung out in this kid playing area for about 40 minutes where far too many strangers and other kids congregated as well for her liking
. 3 pieces of luggage to watch, 2 strollers, and two 19 month old energy ball twins who thinks it's good fun to shirt themselves and pull down their pants to "poop" randomly was a hand full. Fun times though, and many laughs.
Tina does her super-woman stuff and we're in the car by 8 PM and trying our best to get out of Calgary before this "weather watch" hits. Our first hour required some careful driving, but we made some good time in between. Just when we started to see the light at the end of the tunnel (that being a sign that told us Saskatoon was 115 KMS away), the world basically turned white. So, that 115 KMS went purrrr-ity slow! We made it safe-n-sound in the great warm house by 4 AM Saskatoon time (3 "our" time). We're here! Phase 1 complete. We'll be smooth sailing here until the 30th when we trek BACK to Calgary via rental car and spend the night there before we jet off to Miami!!! Yipppppppeeee!!!
So we'll keep this first one short! Yesterday (22nd) we left the great good city of Yellowknife to venture down "south" to Saskatoon, SK. Our plans were quite simple: fly to Calgary to eat some supper, grab our car rental and suit the little ladies up and drive the 7 hour trek across the two provinces. First glitch! Air Canada "lost" BOTH our car seats. By lost I'm sure they mean they simply didn't put them on the plane which is becoming a claim to shame for them I think! In any case, after waiting about 40 minutes for our last two pieces of luggage to appear miraculously, we went to the customer service area and they were quite good to be honest. They hooked us up with brand spanky new car seats that we get to keep (insurance purposes or something), and, they're gonna give us ours back too when it's "found". Off Tina went to figure these things out and get the rental straightened away. Side note: flight from YK to Calgary went GREAT.
