December 24th evening:

Ahhhh Christmas.  Carols are on the PA, the ship is adorned with garland and packages, lights, bows, and decorated trees.

Evening programming ended at 10 p.m. and I rushed down to my cabin to throw on a formal gown and get ready for the night's festivities.  Being of European decent I was "volunteered" along with my fellow english speaking crew to be part of the international choir for the 10:45 p.m. Christmas program.

It was really fun actually.  The Filipino choir sang three songs, then the Indonesian choir sang three songs.  Afterwards the Captain gave a brief message of cheer for the holidays and then the international choir sang carols.  For our final song we lit candles and walked up the sides of the Van Gogh show lounge and encircled the whole room with light as we sang Silent Night.

Afterwards the crew was invited to the Pinnacle Grill for snacks and beverages of all kinds (read free alcohol).  The spring rolls and ginger bread cookies were delicious.

I went to bed after a bit of socializing to be ready for all the Christmas activities happening Christmas Day.  Santa's coming all the way to the Tasman Sea to land on the bow of our ship just for the Kids onboard away from home and I need to be awake to help out!
