It's official - the school year is over, grades are in, garage sale completed successfully, apartment packed up and cleaned, belongings moved - twice - and now I'm heading to the Twin Cities for a vacation before leaving for my summer contract in the Mediterranean. I researched the various modes of public transportation and how much it would set me back financially and decided that Amtrak would be the most fun in my price range. I love all forms of public transportation, within reason, and the train would allow me freedom of movement, a nice dinner, great scenery, etc. So I bought my ticket and am now getting ready for my adventure.
I always seem to meet the most interesting people when I travel. On this trip I managed to sit next to a woman who enjoys photography and knitting like myself and who's sister lives in my parent's hometown. How crazy is that?! We had a great time chatting between our dinner times, and the trip went really fast (for a 7 hour trip) and before I knew it I arrived in St. Paul's train station.
