We docked in the port city of Piraeus, Greece today for a fun and amazing day.  I finished up with work and headed into the city.  I debated whether or not to head into the main attraction city -Athens - but the train fare was only 80 cents Euro and it would only be a 20 minute ride.  So, I bought the ticket and headed out to Athens.  I didn't have much time before all aboard, but wanted to take a few photos of the area.  If I'd had a bit more time I would have gone up to the Parthenon and the Colesseum, but I did manage to capture some beautiful shots from below.  Hopefully next time I will be able to secure a tour and go up to the top. It is really so close to the ship though that now that I know where to go I may also be able to do a self-guided tour.

I called home, completely forgetting the time change we had last night moving us EIGHT hours ahead instead of seven and called mom at 5:45 in the morning instead of 6:45 when I thought she'd be up getting ready for work (Sorry!!!) and then I walked around Athens.  I walked into a garden that was an archeological museum and was promptly asked for 3 Euro.  I passed on the entrance fee and walked around the perimeter and made some photos through the wrought iron fence - for free!  I made my way back to the train station, hopped the train back to Piraeus and came back to the ship to eat dinner and get ready to return to work.
