I had in port manning today and stayed on the ship in Monte Carlo, Monaco.  I wasn't completely sad about it, I was tired of big cities after my tiring jaunt around crowded and noisy Barcelona.  Don't get me wrong, I'm having a blast and am thoroughly enjoying seeing the different cities, but it is tiring for a girl who prefers nature to be constantly surrounded by traffic, noise and people on all sides.  The Monaco I saw from the rail of the ship looked to be no different.  This is THE Monte Carlo, casino extraordinaire with a gazillion hotels, apartments and highrises as far as the eye could see.  It goes around the ship in a square so there was much to see from all sides.  Some of the original architecture looked very beautiful, but it was crowded out by newer construction on all sides.  If I have the opportunity in August when we get this way again (we have three similar but different itineraries that we do 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3 for a total of 6 cruises and then I debark) I definitely want to see it, but today I didn't mind the rest from the hustle and bustle.  My friends went to the beach in a small town outside of Monte Carlo and relaxed which sounded great - I'll have to try it next time.

Well, I have to work at 7:30 AM tomorrow morning and I'm still exhausted and it is currently 1:24 AM MY time, so good night.  Thanks for the comments and emails regarding this blog - it is so nice to know that all the hours I spend on this aren't just frivolous ramblings going nowhere.
