The Cruise Terminal is extremely close to the airport and we arrived quickly. The ms Oosterdam is a much larger ship than my previous assignments but nicely appointed with refined touches. It will take me a few days to get my bearings though as the layout is not terribly similar to the other classes of ships.
I came onboard through the A deck entrance in the "basement" of the ship and immediately met with the Human Resources officer to receive my room key (passenger cabin for this short cruise!!! Oh yeah!!!). I then went to the cruise director's office and said hello to my supervisor, a friend from my summer contract to Alaska, and then went to grab food and put on a uniform to get ready for work.
The schedule is different now than it was previously and we will be working hard, but I am still looking forward to 3 days in Mexico where I can practice my Spanish that I am studying in my Intensive Conversational Spanish class at my university. I also look forward to taking some photos to post here for your viewing enjoyment.
