Monday was a bad day as you have already gathered from my last entry. Believe it or not, the day got worse. At 11pm, i received a call from my mom that caused me to burst into tears and sob loud enough to wake half the house.
Any time you get a phone call when you are traveling, your first question is "what's wrong?". My poor mom had the difficult task of telling me that my bird, my baby boy Phantom, had died that afternoon. It was horrible and i'm just devastated for all of us. Phantom had spent the last 6 weeks calling out to my mom every time she left the room. He was confused about why he was at her house and where i was. My mom feels incredibly guilty about his passing since it happened while she was looking after him. It was an accident and it could have happened if i was there helping her cook the same meal - teflon pans and birds do not mix. I'm a wreck because my mom was crying to me and i can't imagine going home to an empty apartment. Just two days ago, i had emailed my mom thanking her for Phantom pics and was saying how i couldn't wait to see him. Wahhhhh!
On Monday i was moving dead and frozen birds at SANCCOB and in a few weeks time, i will be burying my baby Phantom. Man this hurts. I hate being so far away but i've received incredible support from the ladies at Aviva House in the form of real hugs and many cyber hugs have come from home as well. still, i'm incredibly sad.

So sorry Sweetie. You were just mentioning how much you were ready to get back in your own space. How much time have you left? I hope it makes sense some day ...

Sending you hugs!
