What better way to spend a wednesday evening but in a necrophiliacs paradise. I speak of 'Bodies' the exhibition of course. It was something I had wanted to see for ages. Lethal is the best description, not for the squeamish maybe, but certainly hits a nerve! It starts with raw bone samples before adding muscles, nerves, organs & then the associated systems. You could spend all day dazed there although some dodgy buachaill breathing heavily seemed over eager to get up close to the reproductive figures so we flew through that section. Effects of various diseases were shown. If the cross sections of lungs won't make you ditch the ciggies, get yourself a nicotine drip & let the good times roll.

The bulk of its contents are viewable online (http://www.bodies.speedy.com.ar/home.html) so it puzzles me why cameras were not permitted. It`s situated in El Shopping de Abasto, a doubledecker sized Mahon Point with a kids play area on top, an arcade beneath enveloped by tens of eateries & supported by 2 levels of women's utopia below BoDies

. It was jointed with kids the day we went (see video). Style is an individual thing I thought but that Fernando Torres hairstyle is getting to be of Beckham mohican stature in BA. An Arabian dinner & we hit the road jack.

Friday brought a birthday surprise. Tickets to see Cabaret were sprung upon me (Liza Minnellis ticket to stardom) giving us the chance to mingle with the high society of BA (see http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=sSUQfSwsr1c for a preview of the Spanish version). Lots of beauty, swit swoo & elegance were on display. The abundance of pink shirts forced me to stand with my back to the wall, though fortunately the queue was short. On the ground section, people didn't sit in typical rows of seats. Instead they encompassed tables like in a cafe/cabaret with the floor tiered. It didn't have all the props of Broadway but it didn't need them as the spectacle overcame the language barrier for me & went down a treat.

Now I was in the dark about the show so when Emcee, the lead guy, dressed in leather bondage shorts worthy of the Village People, pranced onto the stage I was thinking What The F***. When he started singing & getting jiggy with all the ladies on stage, I began to see it from a new perspective. That view was hastily annihilated when he proceeded to do likewise with the lads. I had my personal translator beside me to help me clarify any hazy scenes but they were a rarity. Nibbles & drinks inside are overpriced as expected. The only negative was the liberal use of dry ice on stage causing Arctic conditions in the theatre. When the curtain finally fell, my ass cheeks felt comfortably numb. Craving sustainance, a pizza at Bancheros washed down with a litre bottle of beer (very popular over here) afterwards completed the night.

K road
If you think going to a internal bodies exhibition and a somewhat sexually curious show is worth 4 paragraphs, wait till you see K road in Auckland. Let's just say Denis was perplexed in a way only Denis could be.
