With beautiful sunshine raining down on us & being avid National Geo fans, we headed for the zoo. It was a decade since my last Fota outing so I was up for it. We got what we expected, the highlights for me being the polar bear & Bengal tigers one of which is white. If you are considering having kids I strongly suggest a day at the zoo so you know what you are letting yourself in for. They were running rampant like headless chickens all over the place tripping you up wherever you walk. After weaving our way through all the attractions we stopped into the botanical gardens right beside it. There must be some unwritten rule for entry that we were unaware of. You must be either an OAP or as straight as Elton John. It is what it is really, a park of greenery made for photos.
It being mid summer, the sales are in full flight so we took a glimpse of the commercial side in Avenida Santa Fe
An evening nap & some grub were in order after walking all day. Following in the footsteps of the great names Carmody, Razor & Sutton I was convinced to go to The Big One, a former church now an electronic club. We ventured out around 2 as folk at home are stumbling in the door. The queue was some ordeal doubling in length as the rats joined their so called friends ahead of us. They did allow people in slowly in the fashion of the mart that is Reardens to keep the queue growing but ID wasn't high on their list of priorities although it matched Havanas for the ching ching. It has 3 floors & retains some stained glass on the upper levels. Everyone present was very spiritual demonstrated by the sea of people bowing in unison to the pulpit, aka DJ. The music was bliss & there wasn't one fight before, during or after. Everyone was there for the tunes so it was a refreshing change. The weirdest feeling was leaving the place with day starting to break although it finishes officially at 9am, happy days! My ears finally popped during the taxi home & I conked as soon as I stepped inside the door.

White bengal
. Electronic products over here are very pricy even in comparison to home due to importation tax. Clothing & shoes are on a par & maybe a little cheaper depending on location. Food on the other hand, especially meat & dairy are a fraction of the price we pay in Eire so I make hay. Books in english are hard to find but those in spanish are more resaonably priced. With the credit card taking a bit of a walloping, we headed for home. An evening nap & some grub were in order after walking all day.
