so...Jo has one more day at work and I have to suffer two days until Thursday! Twiddling thumbs and trying to put together lists of all of the things we should remember to take with us (whilst keeping the weight and space down in our bags) and last minute dipping into the Lonely Planet bible to work out at least our first weeks itinery!
The plan is to spend three nights in Bangkok (book hotel...check!) and then make our way South East along the coast to a place called Si Racha in the province of Chonburi and onto Ko Sichang, an island off the coast of Si Racha. This is where we plan to spend the following 2-3 days, acclimatising and exploring the Thai language, food and culture. WIth any luck we'll be able to visit the Buddhist monastery on the island and the temple at the highest point, with 500 steps to climb!
The next stage of the trip is to head eastward along the coast to Trat and then onto Ko Chang for another week of beachlife indulgence. Following that (so far,) the plan is to head to Hat Lek and cross the border into Cambodia...from there, the trip is a little hazily planned and will be "made up" as we go along. We'll probably go to Sihanoukville, Bokor Hill Station and onto Pnomh Phen via Kep...but we'll have to see!
