The flight was over in a flash. On the way over I flew over the Eifel Tower. Jacques met me at the airport after he finished work. And we caught the train back to central station and walked home from there. Jacques apartment was in prime position in Geneva. It over looked the Ge du, which is a massive jet of air emerging from the lake. For the first time in my life I was exposed to a new language. During my long days while Jacques was making his living I would practice French phrases from a book he gave me. I'd then go and try them out at the local boucherie. I felt helpless at time because as soon as I walked in to the shop they would instantly start speaking English to me. Through Jacques I met Dustin who was an Austrian/American living and working for the World Global Fund. And this is how I met Hadley.

Hadley was this adventure crazy American chick studying medicine. Her dad was one of the directors of the World Global Fund and he seemed he was doing pretty well for himself because he had one of the nicest apartments in Geneva and a bonus I liked was his diplomatic plates on his Mercedes. This of course was the car Hadley drove us around in plus the diplomatic plates just ensured you would not be hassled by police. The best thing about it was Hadley and I got on swell and just my luck, she offered to take me ice climbing with all the top quality gear. Something I never dreamed of doing while I was overseas.
