we got out around 10am which is always amazing for us! yeah
we wandered all day. we found san marco square and the rialto bridge quite easily following the numerous signs. it was so nice taking in the atmosphere.
as much as i hate crouds, the festive feeling wouldnt be the same without so many people. it doesnt feel too dangerous *(especially after barcelona)
i dont know the last time the first day of carnivale has been on valentines day but it feels pretty special.
we took the local water ferrry to merano island where all the glass blowing is. very pretty and only about 23euro both ways.
I bought a mint, pistaccio nougat slice of nougat cake. i had two bites, got an instant stomach ache and sneezed twice then had to throw it away, but it is all part of the fun.
i am defs feeling sea sick still from the ferry
we got back after dark and walked around the many stalls for cheap masks that little san marco square. carrie and i decided we needed to get the real carnevale experience and buy a mask. even though they will be very hard to carry around. i found a light blue one that matches my gloves and scarf and carrie went black and gold. we finally feel like we fit in. everyone wears masks. and the locals are in thier entire get up. its very cool
8 hours out today i think we will turn in early at 9pm.
