Where I stayed
i was so glad it has been good weather so far so we can wander around outside.
i woke up this morning to snowing outside my window. i am looking at it now falling on the long street of old buildings and a church peak to some church in the background. it is falling in large clumps now like it is determined to get to rest on the ground and slip someone up.
i am so grateful to God for the perfect weather and this is perfect timing as we can go alot of shopping undercover here and hang in little cafes and watch the snow from the warmth. It is beautiful.
anyhoo nothing to do in bern but some statues and i think one church (im sure it wont compare with Vienna) and some botanical gardens that will be dead in winter. but i am really looking forward to relaxing a little and cafes and shops and whatever we feel like. maybe some hot coffee in the cold weather. im sure there will be a starbucks, they are everywhere. anyhoo have to let u know soon what ends up happening i am just happy about italy tommorrow.
might try and see twilight tonight in english
... yeah saw twilight by myself. it was cool and i had the trams down by then and made it home with no effort (and no ticket, u think i would learn after prague, but no)
we walked around all day and got caught in a snow flurry half way across the bridge. it was so much fun though and my jacket does pretty well in the wet apparently. i was glad my camera was waterproof at this time cause it got satched in the melting snow. carrie didnt want to bring hers out. my hands were numb with the cold though.
found internet. and a grocery store. i bought some home made pasta that we wernt hungry enough to eat anywayz. i saved it for brekky. we left at 8am and trained 5 hours to verona
saw guiliettes balcony but to my surprise they ahd all but cleaned off the walls where everyone wrote stuff around the balcony. the little hallway leading to the square had been covered with white walls and temporary white fabric that people were writing on and they would obviously take off when it got overcrouded. i cannot believe they would clean all that history off. there was a little of the original left at the start of the archway. crazy!!
we found a less touristy cafe where i could brush up on a little italiano again. i am so excited. then we found a regional train that we could hop on without paying extra. got into venice after dark so i cant wait to see it in the daytime. whenever carrie gets up!
