I mostly wrote in my journal but I thought a blog is an easier way to answer everyones questions at once.
I say 50% because i was so tired to begin with that I couldnt enjoy everything to its full potential but i soldiered through the thai cooking school and then went to airconditioned malls and just walked around till i had to make my way back to the airport.
SILOM Thai Cooking School was fun but the running water broke so we were really rushed. The 5 courses were delicious and very filling. we had a great coconut milk chilli soup then pad thai, cold chicken salad with sticky rice and green curry. For dessert, water chestnut boiled in tapioca flour and with a sweet coconut milk sauce on top, so delicious. We got a recipe book so i am defs trying to make that again. I would recomend this school to anyone visiting bangkok, even if its only for a little while, (word to the wise they all meet in the lobby of thethe hotel on Silom st near Soi 13). http://www.bangkokthaicooking.com/
The shopping centres were ridiculous. So Huge and very western, there are about 5 right next to eachother in the Siam district. BMK, Siam Discovery, Centre Siam, Siam Pentagon and furthur on is Central World. They are all bigger than eachother and are all specific to a certain kind of shopper. BMK has electronics that can be bartered like markets and a grocery store and an overpriced food hall upstairs with food from around the world. I didnt like Discoverey that much, it was kind of empty. Centre Siam was my fave but they all joined together so i got confused which was what. I started heading to the bus stop at 6pm and got there by 7pm. Thats how long it took to navigate through the shops. I thought i had been through the three adjoining malls and seen them all, that is until i went to Siam Pentagon and my jaw dropped. Its huge and white marble and shiny and defs western and rich. The food hall on the bottom level was huge and had everything like in market style. I cant explain, you have to see. Then they had rich shops like luix vuitton etc. It was actually a little wrong, I felt it was too westernized.
The first bus that went by, when i found the bus stop, was the one to the airport. Of course I thought it would stop but, as i later learned, you have to wave the buses down and run out into the middle of the street to hop on it, while it is still moving. So after an hour of waiting for another one, a took took driver told me. "That bus go to airport." So I hopped on. It turns out it went to the wrong airport, the dark, abondoned, old airport and left me on the side of the highway. Luckily I made it eventually, with two hours and 1,500Baht to spare. I had to take a shittle bus, that was the only vehicle around, for an overpriced 400Baht.
Lots of stupid mistakes made because my brain wasnt functioning. I forgot the directions to the cooking school but i wandered around and found it eventually, then I got on the wrong bus back to the airport and ended up going to the old abandoned airport Duan Mean or something. Anyhoo... I found the only vehicle in sight and jumped on. It was a shuttle to the right aiport sawanapoomi. made it so Praise the LORD!
This is very condensed but i just want to get up to date and to Europe. At least being exhausted has its bonuses I slept for 10hours of the 12 hour flight to frankfurt. Chillaxing time at Aunt Melanies house in Shifflange, Luxembourg.
