Hello all!!
Sorry for the delay in updating... a number of reasons for the delay: 1. Power shortages 2. internet going down 3. More importantly i was busy!! 4. I was laying low (so much so my sis phoned to ask had i been kidnapped) 5. Ive been working hard! The building is coming on so well! Oh so much has happened over the last few weeks that i hope i can recall it all! Sadly Foreman Rev Fred had a bad accident on site last week.. he fell of the crazy scoffolding. I sent him to hosiptal for X rays etc and thankfully nothing was broken but hes hurting! He came back yesterday for a few hours and will be back part time unitl he feels better. So in the mean time ive been on site alot more than normal (longer hours) and Ive appointed John, one of the other builders to help in the mean time.
The roof is supposed to be completed today but i forgot that when i asked the Ugandan Roofers how long it would be that they were on "African Time" - so always add extra time! Apparently it will now be Saturday??? I wait to see!! We worked last saturday and will do again this Saturday. The builders all wanted to work on Sunday but i refused!! I needed at least one rest day!! Believe it or not we started to put the windows in the girls room!! All internal plastering is finished... we busyily working on external walls. Hopefully when i go to site today i will have two new masons. They will finish building the veranda and help with the plastering.
Did i mention that the opening cermony is on Friday 21 July - so it will be work work work until that day - propably the minutes before opening! Nothing like setting a deadline! Please have a look at the photos and let me know what you think! Love Sheila xox More thumbnails ...
