The train journey from Pisa to Rome took 3 hours, carriage style seats again... but this time the reservation fee cost us 11.40Euro each because this train was supposed to be faster?
So far the trains in Italy haven't been as good as France or Spain... Spanish trains are far superior!! We think that the overnight train we took left us with a few extra passengers!! Scrachy!!!
We found accommodation in a 2 Star hotel very close to the station for only 50 Euro per night with a shared bathroom. We decided to go to St Peters Square the first night....we got the metro, where we witnessed a few Japanese tourist being pick pocketed on the metro..
We walked it back through the city... you see sooo many sights, but bring comfy shoes this city takes alot out of you!..... we went to the Piazza Venezia, looked at the Colossum from a distance (saving if for another day), Castel San Angelo, The Vatican and the Trevi Fountain ..... the fountain is not as i expected, its totally crowded! In a small square, with people trying to sell you everything from roses to stress balls, it was good to see and of course we threw in money but a little disappointing...... We walked the feet off ourselves!! Totally exhausted we dragged ourselves back to the hotel.
