Glorious Seville
Entry 7 of 42 | show all | print this entry |
Thursday 10th June 2004
Left Madrid on the 11am AVE train...fast, comfortable, clean and roomy! The trains to Seville leave every 30mins. Reservation fee on this train was €10...(which was expensive when you compair it to the sleeper from Paris to Irun: €17.50) the train only takes 2.5 hours to get to Santa Justa Station in Seville.
We´ve just noted that we haven't mentioned the weather yet...well today in Seville it was a whopping 42C... definetly not suitable for my blue skin... Annie is adoring the weather while i try to find every shaded spot in the city!
Seville is BEAUTIFUL!! Oh what a change to Madrid... We arrive on a Holy Feast Day.... that was fun stuck in the middle of a Holy Parade with our rucs on, in 42C heat!
Found our accommodation, which we booked with www.hostelworld.com, looks ok so far. Left off our rucs and headed for the sights...which there are many! Seville has beautiful buildings, streets lined with orange trees, the sunshine...oh its got the lot!
So far we´ve seen:
La Catedral...amazing building Plaza de Espana...which is breathtaking! They had horse competitions today so we just sat for hours taking it all in.
TIP! No Metro in Seville so alot of walking, get on your comfy shoes, drink lots of water and put on loads of sun cream!
