God damn it, I just spent like half an hour writing this really long post on my past days here. And now it's gone. Great.
I guess.. here we go again.
Friday:
The flight from St Maarten to St Barhts - amazing! Just amazing! That was one hell of a flight! The teeniest tiniest plane with a specacular view and a feeling that the plane might come apart any moment was exactly my type of thrill! And the landing, right on the beach - all of it just amazing! Loved it!
Called the hotel and then bumped into Emily and Audrey who works here and had been to the St Jean beach and also needed a lift back home
Got to the hotel and Mathieu took me to my room, that I'm sharing with Delphine. She was at work but Elodie was here, nice girl : )
She ended up taking me to dinner where I met more of the staff.
The room is ... OK. Enough said.
The food is ..... OK. Enough said.
The dining area is... barely barely OK. Enough said.
Later that night Delphine came back from work and took me to Mathieus place where I met Jimmy and we all just chilled, french style. : )
Saturday:
Got up and walked myself to the Epicerie, managing of course to get lost along the way, wandering into some rich peoples private property and they did not seem very happy about it
Then Delphine, Perine & Emily took me to our beach, Anse des Cayes. It's an OK beach. I mean, it is still in the Caribbean but it's nowhere near some of the other beaches around the island. It was nice though, the french girls are nice enough : )
That afternoon though I did start to feel somewhat claustrophobic, our part of the island is (just as any other part) between the mountains and the beach and consists of maybe 100 people so I definately felt the need to explore. There's only one little road leading to our part of the world so I just walked it all the way up the hill. Soon enough a car stopped asking me if I was looking for a lift. I told the guy I actually had no idea where I was going and so he offered to show me around the island. Which he did, Max, playing Wyclef Jean on the stereo and laughing every 2 seconds. He seems like a nice guy, I don't think we have too much in common though. Even so, I am very greatful he stopped I had a good time and it was great to be able to see the island
That night, just chilled and realized that appearantly american TV channels sometimes show the same movie twice in a row. Amazingly weird and to be honest a bit annoying.
Sunday:
So Saturday at dinner I met Kathy, an american girl and we had made plans to go to the beach after lunch. She took me to St Jean beach, which I loved : D Amazing beach, great water, sand, clean, great bar and it is very cool how the planes keeping flying right above your head. Mathieu also joined us and I had a very good time!
After a quick shower Kathy showed up again and we ended up hitchiking into Gustavia, that is appearantly the way to go here, and to be honest, I love it, it's very cool how everyone stops for hitchikers and you really get to know people around the island that way.
We went to Shell Beach for a drink, also a great beach, lots of pretty shells, great bar and nice people.
Kathy called some guy Bridger and he was out clubbing telling us to join him
It was fun though and the club, HotSpot, was great! Foam, amazing DJ, beautiful & happy people and just a whole lot of fun!
Bridger had initally said he'd drive us home but probably was too drunk to drive then left the driving up to.... me! So there you go, my first drive in St Barths, it was a crazy experience! The roads are awful, full of hills and curves and people driving like crazy, but it was also great fun : D
We eventually got back to the hotel and Kathy needed paper from Mathieu so we woke him up and ended up listening to Janis Joplin & Jimi Hendrix for hours just winding down : D
When a bit more chilled we watched a movie and then I headed back home.
Today, Monday:
Had lunch and then doing this. For the second time now, I might add. And I'm sure my first post was a lot more detailed, insighful and fun, but there you go.
Work starts in 1,5 hrs, it should be interesting. I'm working my whole shift with Mathieu though so I'm thinking it'll probably be fun. : )
That's it, well, no, that's not all of it but that's all you get for now ; )
I'm definately fine with being here so far.
Take care
XOXOXO
I guess.. here we go again.

. Shortly after Mathieu showed up and drove us back. Even though it is a petite petite island it is all made up out of mountains so driving is a true adventure, with amazing views of course!Got to the hotel and Mathieu took me to my room, that I'm sharing with Delphine. . The wonderful lady at the supermarket also informed me that my 9.99 Euro purchase was not good enough for VISA, they only accept from 10 euros. And come to think of it I haven't seen any ATMs on the island so far so I guess every trip to the Epicerie will be a 10 euro one. Then Delphine, Perine & Emily took me to our beach, Anse des Cayes. It's an OK beach. I mean, it is still in the Caribbean but it's nowhere near some of the other beaches around the island. It was nice though, the french girls are nice enough : )

. So once again, hitchiking, this time with a couple of kids on scooters. Woah, that was one ride that mom probably wouldn't have approved of. It was fun though and the club, HotSpot, was great! Foam, amazing DJ, beautiful & happy people and just a whole lot of fun!
