When I finally arrived in NY. I got off at 46st street and I had forgotten to check for directions how to get to my hostel before I left but i knew it was on 109st. At first I decided to walk it. I mean how far could 60 blocks really be? After about 7 blocks I decided that was a pretty bad idea and figured out the subway system and took that instead. Sometimes it's more fun not to figure out everything before you get somewhere and figure it out as you go... Sometimes...
Unfortunately the weather in NY wasn't too great but I still managed to get around and see the sights. I did spend around 4 hours in the hospital trying to get a vaccination shot i needed. It really took two minutes to get the shot but I apparently needed to see 4 different doctors for it :S
For the second part of the week I met up with a girl I had met in Dallas who was also in NY (coincidently) and spent sometime with her and we went out on the weekend. It was great i was with her as she had met club promotors so we managed to skip the lines at some nice clubs and got free drinks.
By this time I was staying at a different place in Brooklyn which sounds really bad but I had a really good time. Everything was really cheap, but still really nice and as long as you don't run around at 4am flashing ipods around, it's relatively save.
I'm at JFK airport Now waiting for my flight to Guatemala. So far I have already been traveling for 2 months but it feels like 2 weeks. I am still having an amazing time and don't think I will be heading home anytime soon (as long as the money doesn't run out) I love traveling alone as it has made meeting new people so easy. When I tell people that I am traveling alone, they normally think I'm lonely but I have only spent 2 days by myself. Every other day I meet someone or group of people and hang out with them for a day or two.
I have had a really good time in the US but after 2 months I am over the big cities and tourist destinations and ready for something more adventurous and challenging so I am really looking forward to going to south america. I will keep you posted on how I go...
