I arrived in Columbus at 7am after a 14 hour journey. I was staying with my friend Kasper who I went to school with In Germany and i hadn't seen him in 10 years. It was good to see him again and see how he had changed over the years. That night i met his flatmate and friends and we went out to a bar where a lot of college people went. The next day there was an American college football game and Kasper had a ticket but he wasn't feeling too well so he gave me his ticket and red football jersey. I went with his friends and it was one of the coolest things I've seen. The entire stadium was filled with red shirts and there was a great atmosphere. The teams mascott was walking around and the friends I was with knew the guy in the suit and yelled out to him and he climbed into the stands and everyone yelled "he's foreign!!" while pointing at me so I got my picture with him (see facebook profile photo). It was very funny talking to American college students and most were very interested in new Zealand. I spoke to one of Kaspers friends Emily for about an hour and she asked me all kinds of questions like whether we have pizza, all sorts of American shows, cars, electricity, facebook, etc. It was very funny seeing what they thought about new Zealand. After a great time with Kasper and his friends it was time for me to move on to new York.
