I booked a flight from Chicago to Boston which was supposed to take only three hours, but ended up taking almost 13 hours. I had a connecting flight in phillidelphia and had an hour to change planes. However there is an hour time difference.... So instead of an hour, I had 5 minutes. This was impossible to do because my plane was late anyway so my next flight left before I got off the plane. Trying to get a new flight was a mission. I went to 2 different service counters and they lady would just work away on her computer while I was standing in front of her. But in the end I got a new ticket and only had to wait 2 hours. When I got to Boston I had worked out that I had to catch the 156 bus. But after standing at the bus lane for 30 minutes I realized there was no 156 bus. So I asked around and no one seemed to know how to get to my hostel. After an hour or two the information guy decided to return from his break and he told me Which trams and buses to take. It was 9pm by now and the hostel didn't allow people to check in past 10. It said on the website that if you were gonna arrive later, you should call ahead. But there was no phone number listed :S in the end I managed to find it and arrived around 9:50. When I arrived, the hostel looked really run down and dodgy, but within 20 minutes I had met some cool people and there was a free pool table which was sweet. Also around midnight the manager would go to the Dunkin doughnuts store and get all the leftovers for the people at the hostel. I stayed in Boston for 3 nights and during the day walked around with an English guy and 2 German girls I met and saw harvard and did the freedom trail.
Boston was a great city but I couldn't stay for too long because the hostel was quite pricy, so had to move on to Miami.
