Our flight from Manila to Hong Kong was much more confortable than our trip over. We had a 747, plenty of room, personal entertainment systems, a decent meal, glass of wine and were perfectly on time.

As usual Hong Kong immigration, customs and baggage collection were extremely efficient and we were on the airport bus to Kowloon within 45 minutes of having touched down. The hostel was ready and welcoming and within another 45 minutes we were in Castro's having a drink.

I spent a couple of hours Tuesday morning trying to track down Pandora chains for my sister in Harbour City....another glittering Hong Kong shrine to extreme shopping...before finding out she was better off buying them in OZ. We then headed over to Aberdeen to catch up with Vicki, our lovely Hong Kong friend who had kindly minded all our winter clothes while we headed off to the sunny Philipines.

Vicki had been to Hokkaido the previous week so we compared notes on holidays and spent a relaxing couple of hours discussing career options and job opportunities in Hong Kong over some iced tea.

Back to Kowloon via our favourite form of transportation in this part of the world ..Star ferries...before having a drink and pizza at Catro's and heading back for an early night.

Our flight the next day wasn't till 8.30pm which gave us perfect timing for a 12 noon checkout, lunch, a movie then pick up the bags to head out on the airport bus.....Looking forward to seeing how much Phuket has changed since 1996.
