Still messing around trying to work out how to post entries, but we'll get there in the end. Almost the best thing about "The Trip" as it's become known over the past 12 months has been the pleasure of anticipation. It's hard to believe that the actual experience of being away from home in warm, exotic climes for a whole year will live up to expectations. The pressure is on.
By way of recording a few important events leading up to the off (it's been a busy time): 1. June 2006 - A week at the villa in Javea, Spain. Builders in the kitchen on arrival but a relaxing time nevertheless. We manage the slightly scary walk round clifftops (pictured) to the medieval ruins. Our last 'holiday' in the traditional sense of the word.
2. July 2006 - We resign from our jobs, committing ourselves to eternal penury. Each morning we cross another day off in our notice period countdown (12 weeks for both of us which represents a compliment of which neither one is worthy). 3. August 2006 - We travel to Miami for Rachel's brother Andrew's wedding to Ann (confused?) 4. September 2006 - Our turn to get married. Andrew and Ann return the favour by flying over to London for the celebration. Thinking about it, I suppose we could have planned the double wedding thing a little more efficiently...) 5. October 2006 - We'll leave work forever. Okay - clarification: We are leaving our current jobs forever but I suspect (regrettably) that we will have to work again at some point in the future... I'm not going to think about that though; it makes me sad.
6. October 2006 - Rent our apartment. 7. November 1st - Fly to Delhi. Love to all - more soon P.s. Future posts will contain the sign-off "T" or "R". This is so that you know who has written what. It will enable you to make sweeping judgments such as: "I love Rachel's posts. She writes really interestingly. Tim is really verbose and not at all funny". (T) More thumbnails ...
