On our first trip in our camper car we went south to Dunedin. Unlike Christchurch with its English feel, Dunedin had a much more Scottish feeling. We arrived late in the day and quickly set about finding a camp-site to pitch our car! It was wet and miserable and not the most ideal weather to get Kerry in to the camping mood! It lifted her spirits though when Nina called to say her and Ric had followed us to the town and were waiting in a pub for us! We headed out for a quiet night and several litres of wine and a curry later we somehow managed to find our way back to the campsite. We woke the next morning after a pretty comfortable night in the back of the car, well, Kerry was in the car whereas John's feet hung out the end of the boot! When we heard the sound of rain lashing down John said "isn't this great!" Kerry said "can we book in to a hostel tonight"!
The day got better for Kerry though with a trip to the Cadbury's chocolate factory. We went in to the theatre ready for our little presentation on all-things-Cadbury and managed to swipe the freebie bags and leave without having to sit through the talk! Kerry was happy! We also went to the Worlds steepest road. Against Kerry's wishes John drove to the top and then free-wheeled all the way to the bottom! John was happy! On a less successful note we also visited the Castle but turned around at the gate after refusing to pay the entrance fee and visited Albatross point where there weren't too many Albatrosses to be seen. Next stop Queenstown.
