We arrived in New Zealand late at night, although not as late as Nina thought we were; she dragged Ric to the airport 3 days prior to our arrival thinking we arrived on Sunday the 11th instead of 11pm on the 14th!  Oh well, at least we were there now and despite it being night time and only seeing 3 roundabouts Kerry knew she already liked Christchurch!
 
The next day Nina and Ric set off to work and we were left to explore Christchurch by ourselves. We decided to walk in to town unaware of how far it was and without a map! After several hours following the river we reached the cute little centre of Christchurch. We hopped on the tram and took lots of photos of the very English looking town.
 
We spent the evening having a BBQ and discussing why it was blatantly obvious Nina and Ric decided to stay in Christchurch for good! Despite liking the town very much, our excitement of travelling again after 6 months in OZ meant we decided to head off the next day so we could see the rest of NZ and then spend more time in Christchurch at the end of our trip.
 
We picked up our camper car the next day. Yep you read right - a camper CAR! We couldn't afford the campervan much to Kerry's disappointment who was looking forward to having all her homely luxuries at hand. We headed south for our first night in the comfort of the back of an estate car!!
