We arrived into Papeete airport in Tahiti early Sept 27th. After navigating the Le Truck system on the Island we ferried over to Moorea Island. Wow - what a sweet place. As we roll into the harbor there's huge mountains surrounded by lush tropical vegetation of every type you can imagine...and then the water - crystal clear beaches for miles. Since there is a reef break, the water is the perfect swimming depth for about a half mile out - sweet, sweet paradise.

On Moorea, we stayed at a hostel right on the beach! Our beach was amazing - amazing coral, fish, and very few people. The island as a whole was also surprisingly mellow with few tourists. After 3 days of rain, finally the clouds broke and we had the opportunity to check the island out. We biked around the perimeter (60K), Kayaked out to a few close islands and inlets & did some hiking up trough the forest to swim in some waterfall pools. Pure paradise is all I can say to describe this Island.

We met 2 girls also staying at our place from Crested Butte - one just happened to be a cook - sweet eats from this point on! We had amazing fresh tuna, salmon creps, etc, etc, etc.... luck. Speaking of food, the fruit here is amazing. We would go hiking and along the trail would be mango, banana, coconut, papaya.... this made it easy to get out of town without having to throw down a bunch of money - I forgot to mention - this place is EXPENSIVE! Anyway - we're having a blast - I'll try to upload some images to this blog to check out the scenes.
