The next morning was a beautiful sunny day so we decided to go down to the beach. The water was a bit cold for swimming but we did see a few kayakers. Shortly after we were back on the road and drove to Cape Reinga, the northern tip of New Zealand and where the Tasman Sea meets the Pacific Ocean. Along the way we saw the White Silica Sands, which you will notice in the pictures. At first we thought it was snow and couldn't believe our eyes, surely the whitest sand we've ever seen. Later in the evening we found a campsite and settled in for the night.
