After a really stressful and bad time in Mosbach where I studient economy I decided to spent my last week at university abroad and not in f...... Mosbach. Arne, my flatmate, decided to join me. Soon we had a perfect destination: Dubai!!!
We booked Hotel Jebel Ali (is among the leading hotels of the world) which was great. It is a little bit outside of Dubai (40 km), but no problem, there was a hotel shuttle to the city. Food and accomodation were perfect. Also the beach which was many km long and there were only some tourists from our hotel. But believe me, you can lay on the beach only from 8 to 11 am and from 4 to 7 pm, in the other time it is too hot...!
We made a day-trip to Abu Dhabi which is also a nice and modern city, much bigger than Dubai. Three times we went do Dubai for shopping. The two highlights of our trip were......: a one-day trip with a rent car through the desert, we went to an oasis, it was amazing. After some hours we reached Oman territory (it is not the big country Oman, there is a really small part of Oman which is "cought in Emirates territory." The day was so perfect, driving with a quad through the desert, swimming in an oasis spring, going to Oman territory and so on. The second highlight was a visit of Burj al Arab, the only seven-star hotel in the world. You can not just visit it, so we booked a bruch there in Al Muntana Restaurant (which is the one on the top of the hotel). For the next 5 hours I can´t find words...it was the best food I ever ate, such a variety, so fresh, so perfect. And I think I never ate so much in my life before...! If you also plan to have a bruch in Burj al Arab you should book quite early. It is every friday and it is 60 Euro each person. The hotel is amazing. Of course a little bit kitschy, but really amazing. Go and find out for yourself...!
