We started early in the morning in Vilnius, Lithuania, were we all studied. We went by train to Minsk. As soon as we arrived a man came to us and asked us where we are from, what we do in our home countries, what we want to do here, where we live here, how long we stay here. I had the strong feeling that we talked to a spy.
We lived in hotel Yubileynaya which was ok. Many people told me before that Minsk is one of the most ugly cities in the world, so I did not expect too much. After having been there I can say that I really like Minsk. We visited Great Patriotic War Museum and walked through the whole city. The streets are broad, there are many parks and the city is safe and clean. You can find good restaurants (Planeta Sushi for example) for good prices. On the other hand most buildings are really ugly. Police and military are everwhere. Everywhere you can find advertisement for the army and patriotic pictures.
There was one really funny story (my criminal teacher who already visited Minsk told me that it will happen...): We were quite tired because we had to get up early in the morning (4 am), so I decided to go to bed early the first evening (7 pm). At 9.30 pm we got a call: "Hello, wanna have nice massage, sexual pleasure....." I woke up and so I was quite angry, so I shouted into the phone: "Sounds good, but not tonight...."! By the way, they also called in the other rooms. All nine of us enjoyed the trip to Belarus. More thumbnails ...
