We woke up so early this morning so we could drive out to the Salt Flats and view the sunrise. Freddie stopped the Jeep just in time for all of us to jump out and start snapping pictures with this incredible view. After a short while, we started having fun with it and playing with perspective (please see photos attached).

For breakfast we went to Fish's Island, a small island in the middle of the Salt Flats that has so many cactuses and and a small collection of bird's and animals. The island is so small, we walked it in about half an hour. Then we sat down and ate sweet bread with Dulce de Leche (mmm, so good!)

After the island, we started driving towards Uyuni and stopped once at a Salt Museum. It had all sorts of Salt sculptures so I took some pictures and then we started to drive towards the salt mountains... but we ran out of gas again! Making the best of it, we took some more pictures on the salt flats and waved down every Jeep that passed. I think Sarah can be a professional waver with all the waving she did that day! We stopped about 10 Jeeps and none of them wanted to let us borrow the gasolina. Finally, someone stopped and we were on our way again! And at the first gas station we found, we filled up!

Then we drove through Uyuni to the Train Graveyard. It seems to not only be a graveyard for trains, but of every other type of garbage you can imagine. The trains were really cool, but these people don't know what to do with their trash so they literally throw it on the ground and wait for it to blow away. Some of them will simply try to burn it! Bolivia seems to be a huge land fill with trash in every direction and it's really sad because it's such an interesting country!

And the last fun piece of our trip was that Sarah got maggots in her potatoes! So now we are Team Extreme ready for our next adventure!
