Yay!  we got to sleep in until 7am as the pick up for this trip was 8:30.  We spent about an hour driving around collecting tourists and headed off to see the Sacred Valley.  We drove past the Sasquayhuaman ruins outside Cusco and stopped at the market in Pisac which was small but OK.  I was feeling the effects of altitude sickness in spite of the Diamox and had very little energy.  I opted out of the hike to the ruins because of the steep staircase but Ina went and took pictures.  The next stop was Calca for lunch which took forever as the bloody tourists dawdled around.  We were both not feeling well and not hungry.

The next stop, Ollantaytambo was a very pretty town.  Once again the ruins were high atop a hill so we decided to just see the grounds, take a few pics and visit the town and the market instead.

The final stop was Chinchero, once again a gorgeous town but itīs at 11,000 feet (3800 metres) and freezing and all we wanted was for the tour to be over so we could crash out.  There was an interesting demonstration of spinning wool and weaving and a visit to a beautiful church.

We finally got back to town a couple hours after we had expected to and had to make a quick dash around the markets buying last minute souvenirs, then we had a great dinner at Chaskaīs Grill right across from the market.  We were asleep before our heads hit the pillows!
