Sunday is pretty well dead in Tahiti so we lazed around the pension until we had to check out. We walked to town and got Le Truck to the airport and checked the bags at a storage room. There was an internet cafe at the airport but it was closed because the server was down. So, intending to sneak into the beach, we caught Le Truck to the Intercontinental Hotel to check it out. It started drizzling enough to make it not very good beach weather so we at least had a nice look around the grounds. Itīs a spectacular hotel and would be great if we can come back for free using points. We also checked out the Sheraton which is very convenient to town but not as stunning as the Intercontinental. At this point, it was raining pretty hard and I got worried about the show tonight. They at least had working internet so I got online for a while and when we left the rain had stopped.
We walked back to the Place Toata-only 20 minutes from the Sheraton. My worst fears were realized. There was a sign on the ticket office window that the show had been postponed until tomorrow or refunds could also be obtained tomorrow from the office. That was no good for us as we would be flying out that night! I was pissed enough that we would be missing the famous Toa Reva group and now to be losing $30 worth of tickets too! So we hung around the ticket office looking to onsell them and luckily since the show was sold out, we soon had a taker who paid us face value. So not out of pocket but we missed a great show! Having time to kill, we walked around the carnival-kiddie rides and had dinner, then caught Le Truck out to the airport. The flight was crowded but at least it was on time.
