Back at Canaima Lagoon I faced more delays in getting my place from Canaima airport back to Puerto Ordaz and was worried further by a couple of English guys I met back at camp who had been stranded there for 2 days not being able to get a flight out!

However, being a woman on her own it{s amazing what you can achieve when you put your mind to it ;)..... I was soon outa there and back in time for my connection into Caracas. The woman on her own card is really useful... you get things carried, people willingly escort your from place to place and always make sure your ok. They even let you borrow their mobile phone to call someone when they haven{t turned up at the airport to meet you.... its fantastic! Shame it doesn't quite work the same way back in the UK.... they're mostly tossers there (sorry it's true, except present company reading this of course!) and I{m yet to be proved wrong!

So yeah - back in Caracas in the city now, near the Barrios (bad bit - well I can see it from the window of the hotel in the distance if that counts!). I did feel a little unsafe trapsing around at about 11pm even though the streets were still bustling.... a lot of comments from passing creatures of the night thrown in my direction! And I ran into a prostitute in the lift on the way back up to my room.... who had clearly being servicing one of the other residents (gross!). Anyway it's off to Costa Rica tomorrow (via Panama) so see you there!?

I´m hoping not every1 is having the same problem as you. Basically you have 2 choices:
1) Post a message against an entry or a response that someone else makes or
2) email me either by clicking on email (which you did the other day and yes I got your message thanks)

I get a notification if you email me or post a message so it makes no difference.... only every1 else can read the ... show all

Hi Jade,

I'm reading your stuff and it sounds totally mad but I guess it's a change from doing accounts at the airport back home right?

I'm just trying to get a handle on this travel pod thing, it's tottally new to me and I'm not sure how to use it or whether I can recieve e-mails from you, but that's nothing compare to some of the dilemas you've had so I should consider myself f... show all

My phone hasn't worked the whole time I've been at the falls and when it briefly shows signs of life whilst I'm in Caracas... I have only 1 txt to show for it - does anyone out there remember me I wonder :(? Well I'll keep posting the updates when there's something to report .... but my phone doesn't currently work in Costa Rica so it would be nice to hear from some ppl if you have time?
