I bought a bus ticket to Adelaide for $44.50 - a far cry from the $4 I would have paid in Asia. Then, I walked around the town a little and used the internet in the library. Made some dinner and watched t.v. in the bus station until my bus left at 12:30 that morning.
Port Augusta is a nice enough little town. I got dropped off at the bus station and was finally done with that little, red station wagon. I was happy to be done with that awkward situation and to have made it through the deadly Outback alive. Speaking of how deadly Australia is, the news is great over here. If it isn't a story about backpackers doing stupid things and dying, it's just other people dying in extreme ways. There was a guy that died from rain! It rained so hard in Melbourne that an awning collapsed on him.
