We started the morning with a leisurely breakfast in the garden of The Artist House. Breakfast here is a collection of croissants, baked goods, breads, egg tarts, fruit, and cereal.  All are baked fresh at a bakery up the street and delivered to the house.

We decided to walk the to the cemetery this morning. Most of the graves are above ground even though the cemetery is built on the highest point on the island (which is not saying much). There are many historic and even funny headstones here.  It was an interesting place! I'm anxious to hear the haunted history of the place when we take our ghost tour tomorrow night.

From there we walked for a while more, had lunch, and continued on to the Southernmost Point on the island.  People were lined up for a block just to get their picture taken. We were hot, sweaty, and tired of walking at that point, so we just photobombed some other people and took a picture from the curb.  At least we can say we have been the closest we are allowed to Cuba, 90 miles away.

From there we decided we would head back to our room to cool off.  Of course we had to walk down Duval St., so a stop at Willie T's was in order for some cold drinks.

Keeping with our vacation tradition, we took a nap and then went out to dinner. Tonight we ate at Fogarty's.  Our waitress was a cute Hoosier girl, the food was great, and the key lime pie is the best I've had (it was my second piece of the day!).  From there we walked to Mallory Square. The sunset was not much to see this evening, but there were some cool street performers.

Next we walked down Whitehead Street, aka Hwy 1. We realized as we were walking that we drove Hwy 1 when in Massachusetts. We stopped at the 0 mile marker for a picture and then headed down the street to the Green Parrot, a bar on the corner of Southard and Whitehead. After a couple of drinks we decided to call it an early night. I don't think that happens too often in Key West.

Looking forward to a lazy day and a ghost tour tomorrow.
