Day Six of bed rest, and I'm finally feeling well enough to contemplate joining the land of the living tomorrow. The cough is still there, but not nearly as frequent or as deep in the chest. I feel much gratitude to Sage, who was adamant about my staying in bed even as I felt my lungs improving so that I didn't push it too much too early. And to Lovely Lithe and Sunshine, who also called me about twice a day to see if there was anything they could do. These program staffers are above and beyond supportive.
Wreath of Roses came over to do laundry before our big excursion to the Peloponnese Peninsula of Greece and to make dinner. She made a special skillet meal of her own creation that included angelhair pasta, zucchini, mushrooms, onions, garlic, and little cubes of beef.
She also brought her computer, and we spent some time transferring her four hundred Egypt pictures from her laptop to mine
While the pictures downloaded, we talked about how Wreath of Roses actually thinks in Spanish rather than English because she didn't start learning English until she was seven, her love of Indian and Arabic music, and her upcoming special birthday trip to Paris with her boyfriend after our program in Greece is over. He wants to make sure they're together in the most romantic city on the planet when she turns 21. Awww!

. I'm very excited to have all these pictures now, including the elusive photographic evidence that I actually rode the camel around the pyramids. I'll be posting the pictures back in the blog entries where they belong as soon as the wifi cooperates. While the pictures downloaded, we talked about how Wreath of Roses actually thinks in Spanish rather than English because she didn't start learning English until she was seven, her love of Indian and Arabic music, and her upcoming special birthday trip to Paris with her boyfriend after our program in Greece is over. just read 'em all!
Glad to hear you had such a great time, but sorry you got the third world grunge. (Inevitable, but in a week? You are a sensitive plant!) Our trip was tame by comparison. What was similar was the prices: $6 for a subway ticket; $25 for a snack. Glad to be back to the land of $1.25 cappucino and $2 pizza and gelato. We have lots to talk about!
Am I,
Globetrotter or Ghengis?
Re: just read 'em all!
You're Globetrotter, of course! Folks, Gtrotter has been everywhere... Korea, China, Japan, India, Italy, England, and on and on and on. Your husband is Ghengis because IIRC, the first time I met him he said he was distantly descended from Ghengis Kahn. Or some other rampager.
