Greece is beating me up physically. I'm burned red because sunscreen just slides off in the first ten minutes of the daily broil. I've got a cold from breathing somebody's germs in the recirculated air of the plane. My knees are screaming and my calves ache from the orientation walking tour we marched through this afternoon (and there's another longer one planned for tomorrow. They're trying to keep the students so busy they can't feel homesick). And now I have intestinal bleeding. Pray it's just a temporary traveler's belly. [collapses to the floor, plants white flag in navel]

Advice
Dear Tiara,
I've been reading your blog with interest and can't wait to see you in Athens. Meanwhile, here's some motherly advice from your friend Dutch: elevate the feet, ice the knees, get waterproof sunblock, and eat the BRAT menu (bananas, rice, applesauce, and dry toast) until your gut settles down.
I can't wait to meet Zorba. He looks like a thin version of my beloved Trinity.
And thanks for sharing Sunshine's story. It sounds like a chapter out of _Eat, Pray, Love_. And you are becoming very strong, yourself, through this adventure in Athens. You go, girl!
Hugs,
Dutch

Thank you for the advice, Dutch! I'm feeling better now, thank goodness. I've never heard of the BRAT menu before. I have the bread and bananas, but I'm going to have to look up 'applesauce' in Greek before I go to the grocery store again. No promises about the rice -- that involves cooking. :-)
