And so begins the transition from a very busy life at “the Herb Garden” to a relaxing life of “retirement”.  We plan to spend the next 18 months or so travelling in our ‘87 VW Camper Van to the tip of South America and back again.  Old man winter was not prepared to let us leave Canada without a final blast of snow, high winds and cold temperatures, but we’ve reached Southern Texas without any mishaps.  Tomorrow begins our foray into the Chihuahua Desert where we spend a week primitive camping, hiking and exploring the wide contrasts of the desert ecology.  By mid February, we hope to have our first travel diary entry, and expect to update it every couple of weeks, or whenever we get access to the Internet. We hope you will enjoy travelling vicariously with us. Don’t forget....“we have no fixed agenda, and are not intent on arrival”.....so who knows where we will end up, who we will meet, and what “adventures” we will have!
