Back in Tallinn

This is my last day in Tallinn, tomorrow i'm heading for the University City of Tartu.
Tallinn is being flooded by so many tourists at the moment (many cruise ships stop here) that it has unfortunately also attracted hagglers and beggars, trying to sell everything from tacky matrouschka's to t-shirts nobody needs. The Estonians often wear what they call "medieval" clothes (although wearing Nikes or sunglasses doesn't always help to keep up this believe) and Russians, well let's say they dress up more sexy. But they are both just as worse, trying to pressure you into buying things you don't need. I think I already gave the example of the Russian guy who wanted to sell me Rubbles from Breznjev's time for only 5 Evros (no spelling mistake, that's how he pronounced it), straight from the tsjee tsjee tsjee Pee (CCCP).

In your footsteps (reply) Jul 11, 2005 11:50 EST by markbrynn
Hi Frank,
Mark here (from Den Haag). I found your travel log and wanted to let you know that I'll be following in your footsteps in a few weeks. I fly to Tallinn on the 24th to meet up with Irma (Iru) to hitchhike and attend folk music festival.
Let me know if there's somewhere/someone that I should visit (apart from EVERYWHERE...).
Hope you're having fun. Sounds like it. ... show all
