We have now entered Queensland and its getting warmer at long last :)  Been looking forward to t-shirt weather and now i am writing this in t-shirt and shorts...loverly :)

So since leaving Melbourne and the family what have we been up to? hmmmm Well i have discovered that the best buses in the world are in south America as the ones here are like home and for long journeys super uncomfortable....
We are also traveling around the world in a direction that means the further into our trip we go the more uncomfortable buses become.... on the plus side it gets warmer and cheaper :)

We left Melbourne on a night bus heading for Sydney and after 12 hours of attempting to sleep we arrived at 7:00AM, after a large Latte (my current coffee of choice) me and Zoe dropped off our bags and went for a wander until Zoe's friend of when she used to live in OZ 7 years ago met up with us... Mikey.  Kindly Mikey offered for us to stay at his for the night.  We went out for a meal , and then to a pub then back to Mikey's for more drinks and a guaranteed hang over the next day.  In the pub they randomly had a vending machine selling "wipe on sex appeal"  I had to buy some and meant to take a photo of the box which i will do..... it contained a napkin that smelt like mens toilets and the ingredients on the box described "Water, perfume, Pheromones"  So i spent 10 Min's pissing people off by wiping pheromones on them :)

Anyyy whoo

With a bit of a headache the next day me and Zoe said goodbye and thanks to Mikey and checked out the Sydney opera house and the Sydney harbor bridge...both very nice and we took a couple of snaps.  I'm quite proud of a picture i took of the bridge through the window of a train station which i will put on here also.
So after viewing the sights of Sydney we booked a train taking us 1.5 hours north to a town called Gosford.  Why go to Gosford i hear you cry...or maybe not.  Well we went to Gosford to meet up with some friends we had made in England. Dave and Kaylie were completing there own around the world trip a while back and spent some time in Bristol.... while they were there they worked at the paintball site with me and Zoe..... so upon hearing of our arrival in oz they offered to look after us for a couple of days  which we gladly accepted.  Upon  arriving in Gosford we were greeted at the train station by Dave and Kels who bought us some welcome to Gosford pizza and took us back to their house that had moved into just that day.  After some beers and pizza , D & k presented us with a pack of playing cards which they said every traveler should not be without and an ozzy keyring! Very Nice and thanks again! The cards were a good by as we had destroyed our pack in Chile and were in need of a new set.
Anywayz we had an earlyish start the next day and Dave and Kaylie who i will now call D&K took us to tarragon bay and to a look out point for some gorgeous views of the sea.... we then walked along the edge of the beach and stopped for breakkie.
Later in the day D&K took us to a reptile park that D used to work at and we seen some cool animals including Tasmanian devils, crocs, gaters, platypus, a roo , buncha snakes and a cluster of spiders and last but certainly not least a Galapagos tortoise! As Dave used to work at the center he told us why the turtles shell was dented and it was due to a tree landing on it during a storm..... it has been reapired with fibreglass and looks a little mishapen but the turtle is doing alright :)  Enjoyable visit and i will chuck the pictures on here.
The stay with D&K was nicely rounded off with an evening of pictionary and some fish n chips including chicken salt.... yea "chicken salt"  Its like normal salt but tastes of chicken..wowww, it was tasty.... oh and we lost at pictionary...but how the hell am i supposed to know what "the great Australian bite" is ....bloody ozzy edition.

Ohh and i have been able to get more of gaming fix over the last week....Don't know if i mentioned that i got to play some xbox with my cousin Rob in Melbourne...well i did and i was playing juiced, then in Sydney i got to play some XBOX 360  and i played need for speed, and a few missions on the latest Grand Theft Auto.  Then in Gosford i got to play some xbox classics such as mashed and i gave Dave a super whopping on Red Dead Revolver.... loverly :)
Anywayzzz... D&K took us to the bus station for a farewell and waited until our bus arrived destined for coffs harbor a 7 or so hour bus... we were all set to arrive in Coffs until i had a sudden change of heart at 2:00 in the morning and decided that coffs only had a giant plastic banana on offer and it might be better use of our time to head straight to Byron bay... after some discussion with zo, a guy called mark i met on the bus and the driver we did just this and skipped coffs heading straight for Byron Bay and arriving at 7:00 in the morning after an 11 hour ride :0

The guy Mark that we met on the bus was traveling with a guy called Drew and after arriving in Byron we all found a hostel together and pretty much spent the next 3 days together.  We beached it the first day, and the second including a session of body boarding in the sea... oh yea it was warm enough for body boarding!!  Unfortunately didn't take my camera to the beach so there is no evidence...but it did happen honest :)  We also played some more pictionary with the hostels set and me and zo lost again....but i think that was due to the wine so we had a sober rematch n we smashed em :)
Other than that we watched a really good fire show and i drank to much sangria as for $5 you are allowed 2 hours worth...being one to get my moneys worth where i can i over did it and drank too much ...ahh well.
The next day we booked ourselves up for the most fantastic couple of tours ever...sounds bloody awesome...but for a very reasonable price we will be doing a self drive 4x4 tour around Fraser island with camping, including fresh water lakes, shark and whale spotting and swimming with turtles.... we have also booked ourselves on a Whitsunday 3 day 2 night tour, where we will be sleeping in a double room on a sailing boat that can hold only 12 people hat will take us to different beaches and snorkel spots during the day and cook for us at night..... we will also be visiting a beach during this tour that has been rated as one of the top 10 beaches of the world ..yum.

We jumped on a bus heading for Brisbane that had a movie playing called "Mr Magoriams Wonder Emporium"  with Hoffman And Natalie Portman starring it is bloody wicked...if you like big fish you will like this.  Only disappointment for me was the stupid bus driver who turned off before the end when he stalled the bus....then when i asked him if we could see the rest of the movie he said "Oh its finished" as if I'm supposed to fall for that! then he tried to pull away from hge lights in reverse/... bloody numb nuts....anyways...if you see the end i got to the bit with the monkey let me know what happens.

I have also finished reading a couple of good books, one called under siege.. very enjoyable...about an assassin paid to killed high powered figures in the states including Bush.  I really enjoyed it, the only parts i did not enjoy was all the politics BS going on in the white house.  The other is book of weird and strange newspaper ads from the past, also enjoyable.

ooooo and we seen our first spider in the wild, we think it was a wolf was bloody quick and we seen it running around the hostel!

So were in Brisbane now...its bloody muggy and it rained a bit.  We are going to be meeting up with a guy called Alex that we had met in Chile, and he said he has got us some free tickets to a Rugby League game through his dad! whoop! .  Plus we may be meeting up with an old school friend of Zoes called Jo-Jo

And once again you can vie all of our photos taken here:

Thats all for now
