Hello everyone! How's life in the US of A? I sure hope you are enjoying the luxuries of American living. Here I am elated we have Air Con! It's the little things, ya know. I would love it if you could keep me up to date in the goings on in each of your lives! Through my newsletters/updates my goal is to help you not only see Southeast Asia through my eyes, but also give you a overall picture of the work that takes place here and the lives your yarps and financial support are touching and changing. You are all on the front lines with me here...

So what has happened thus far? Well this trip has been quite the adventure from day 1! My partner, and I departed the US on January 21st. We then spent 3 glorious days in Singapore. It was exactly what we need...rest and relaxation! The point of our stay was to allow us to have longer term visas. The visa man claimed his associate looked just like Eddie Murphy, which he did if Eddie Murphy was old, round and Indian! Ha! Couldn't really make the comparison, but it did make for a good laugh. I suffered from major jet lag and my feet were really swollen. (kinda gross!) I was so exhausted that Singapore is pretty much a blur. I do, however, remember the one night over dinner we got to lead a Bhutanese man to come to know the Father. It was awesome to say the least. Amazing! At this point everything seems to be running very smoothly and we were able to get our visas with no complications.

Yes everything was going great until....the Singapore airport. Jami and I were standing out the counter checking in for our flight into Southeast Asia when panic struck when I realized I didn't have my ticket. Where was my ticket???? And begins the ticket fiasco....We had paper tickets and if you loose those, well you are up a creek without a paddle. I got out of line and I searched my luggage while Jami went to phone the people we had stayed with. I must have searched my luggage a million times and to no avail. We checked with Singapore Air to see if we another copy of my ticket, but couldn't bc my ticket was paper. It would have cost me over $1,000 to get just a one way ticket. Ouch! At this point we thought it would be a good idea to phone Brenda and let her know what was going on. I decided I better check just one more time....and at last I found it! I had put my ticket in the safest place I could think of....with my underwear. So safe, I couldn't even find it! We ended up "having" to fly business class bc economy was full. Suffering.
