The flight from Seattle to Dar was pretty uneventful. Both flights were completely full. Julius' friend at British Airways did manage to get three seats together so we could sit by Father Dominic, and the bulkhead which is the best you can get on coach.
On the plane we drank lots of wine and did our best to sleep a little. I managed the most sleep in the Heathrow airport, crumpled over on some bench, trying to stay warm.
When we got to Dar we spent the day with the family, catching up. All the nieces and nephews were so cute. It is true that kids here are different. You give them an order and they do it without hesitating. Or they do things without an order. When we pulled in they immediately ran to the car and began to unload luggage and put it away. What kids to that. You need breakfast? something from the store? Water for bathing? Ask them and they drop whatever they are dong and get it for you. Amazing. Julius says that they used to fight over who got to take Dad's suitcase from him and take off his shoes when he came from work.
Sleeping is, of course, when you feel the heat the most. I developed a strategy of a fan blowing at me on high while clinging to two frozen water bottles. Not quite A/C but pretty close.
