We packed up and left Stratford this morning heading towards the district of Muskoka, known for its beautiful lakeside resorts, a 3 hour drive away.

Stopped for lunch in Huntsville and also stocked up on some groceries. At the Supermarket the check out lady told Max he could pick out a Halloween Pumpkin to take home and carve out.  Max had no idea what she was talking about as we don't really get into Halloween back home.  So this opened the flood gates!!! There was no way we were leaving that Supermarket without a Pumpkin the size of a very big Basketball.  We drove out of the car park with Max nursing his Halloween pumpkin grinning from ear to ear.

The resort we are staying at was only 5 kms from town, set on 780 hectares.  We checked-in, however there was an issue with the room…….basically we didn’t like it!  After Lee-Ann’s excellent negotiation skills…or rather determination and stubbornness, we finally moved into another suite.  Everyone was very happy with the view, décor and the extra bedroom (Max & Sienna have their own room with 2 queen beds – at bed time they still wanted to sleep together in one bed)!  The view from the balcony is of the golf course and the Peninsula Lake.  Some Autumn trees still have leaves but the majority are gone as it is nearing the end of the season.  We have had a great run seeing the Autumn foliage from Vancouver through the Rockies and throughout Southern Ontario.

We were all hungry and tired so we walked up to the main pavilion to have dinner in the Maple Muskoka Grill restaurant, a casual restaurant with great food.  We all felt much better after that and returned to our suite happy.

We are looking forward to relaxing here for the next 6 nights.  We have been on the go for nearly 7 weeks and the next 5 weeks will take us into the US through Boston, NYC and Washington with lots of things to see!  So we are "chilling out" here….golf and some spa treatments are definitely on the cards.
